Research before the Interview

intend to interview with. Be informed about the job. Learn

customers, their competition, their product and their line

library, chamber of commerce, business publications, industrial

evaluation. Assess whom you are and what you have to offer the company.
Know the qualifications of the job. Know your sales pitch, and be prepared
to sell yourself at the interview.
List your 5 best traits. Determine your key qualifications. Identify your unique strengths, abilities,
and skills. Write them down before the interview. Organize your main
ideas in advance. Commit to memory the major points of your interview
presentation.
Prepare a portfolio containing a collections of impressive examples
of your work, your resume, letters of reference, and awards. A portfolio
is a tangible collection of artifacts and samples that would help your
interview come alive. You should refer to it during the interview presentation,
flipping to pages and pointing out specific examples.
Recall a few relevant stories that you can ell during the interview
presentation. These well-chosen stories or anecdotal examples should
reflect you past experience, set you a positive light, and provide supportive
evidence of your skills and abilities. Make your interview presentation
interesting. List three good stories you can tell.
Telling a story allows you the opportunity to communicate positive emotions
and feelings, a sense of enthusiasm, pride, and dedication about your
work. Telling stories makes you more memorable to the interviewer.
